Meet Judge Jeff Taylor

My name is Jeffrey Taylor. I am currently serving as Judge in the Fayette Circuit Court, 7^th Division. I am running to keep my seat and I am asking for your support. Despite having the backing of many lawyers and mediators in Fayette County and around the state, I understand that the general public likely does not know me. Thus, my intent is to provide you with some insight into my personal life and professional life, to give you a better understanding of the man who is asking for your vote.

How I Became a Judge

After many years of trying cases, I decided the time was right to pursue my next dream, being a Fayette Circuit Court Judge. A vacancy in the 7th Division allowed me that opportunity. I submitted my application to the Judicial Nominating Commission and was selected as one of three finalists to be considered by Governor Andy Beshear. In December, Governor Beshear formally appointed me to the position. I took the bench almost immediately. I am forever grateful to the Judicial Nominating Commission and Governor Beshear for this incredible opportunity. I recognize the gravity of the faith and trust they placed in me and will not let them down.

Now, it is my time to serve the people of Fayette County. I work for you. You are my boss. With this position comes great responsibility. I have spent a great deal of time considering what qualities are important to you as voters, attorneys, and potential litigants and will strive to exhibit the qualities that you need in a judge. First and foremost, everyone who appears before me is important and will be given an opportunity to be heard. I will be diligent and prepared in every case. I promise to listen and give consideration to all who have matters before the Court including attorneys, parties, as well as, victims of crime and their families. I will maintain a great judicial temperament, rule fairly, and follow the law. I am here to serve you, the people of Fayette County. I am just getting started and I want to continue in this role as long as you will have me.
